- The Strategic Role of Leadership #3  June 14, 2009
Speaker: Dan Cooper
The Strategic Role of Leadership # 3. After a brief review of lessons one and two in the leadership series, Dan shares how the leaders of the Pitman church of Christ are being / have been transformed on seven fronts. The leaders transformation over the last five years are have been pivotal in helping us to grow numerically and spiritually. The transformation demonstrated itself in the following areas: 1) Greater dependence upon prayer; 2) Greater attention to building consensus among leaders; 3) Greater attention to Listening; 4) Greater attention to Effective Communication; 5) Greater attention to Dan's need to Reinvent Himself; 6) Greater awareness of Delegation and Equipping; and 7) Greater awareness of Satan's Persistence and Power. Dan received the following testimonial two days after preaching the sermon: "I wanted to drop you a line to thank you for your last few sermons, whish helped me to better understand the role of our church leaders. I have always known there was something so special about the preacher, elders and deacons of Pitman. Your genuine caring ways, unwavering Biblical convictions and the Godly examples have been obvious and reassuring." Signed, DD
- Strategic Role of Leadership # 2  June 7, 2009
Speaker: Dan Cooper
My two major texts were Matt. 22 (The Great Commandments) and Matt. 28 (The Great Commission). What do strategic leaders need to know? They need to know where they are going. They need to understand the importance of prayer. They need to be aware of whether or not others are following them. Dan briefly explores three strategic leaders from the O. T.: David, Daniel, and Nehemiah; then two strategic leaders from the N. T., Peter and Paul. What is the foundational decision that piovotal church leaders for the 21st century make?

- The Strategic Role of Leadership # 1  May 17, 2009
Speaker: Dan Cooper
This is the first of a three part series from a pivotal chapter in Dan's "Guided Research Paper" for his Master's Degree. In general bigger churches are getting bigger and smaller churches are getting smaller. Why? American are not attending church in the 21st century like they did in the 20th century? How does that fact impact the way leaders need to lead? In the 20th Century Americans wanted this answer from church: "What is truth?" In the 21st Century Americans want this answer from church: "Does it work for me?" What happens when 21st century churches answer 20th century questions? Jesus's most harsh words in the first century were to the religious leaders. Would the same be true if He were to physically come to the earth again today?
- Mary The Mother of Jesus  May 10, 2009

Why did God make moms? Dan answers that question in the first few minutes of the sermon. What were difficulties that Mary faced? What about the resources that Mary had? Mary was rewarded for her faithfulness as a mother...
