Two weeks ago Sunday, when the power went out at the beginning of our morning service, God was already at work speaking His plan, His way and in His timing.

Brian Kleineweber, our worship leader for the day, informed us that the school’s generator had gone out and since there was no power for microphones, power point, lights, etc. we should all move up and sing loudly and listen closely.

From there we sang songs from the heart, prayed light into darkness and communed together with our Lord.  In fact it was during Brian Mansdoerfer’s communion talk that the power and lights were restored and microphones made hot… at just the right time.

The verse that Brian was reading by flashlight when the power came on was Romans 5:6-8 “You see, at just the right time, when we were still POWERLESS, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

I’ve had one person ask me if all of this was planned; it was just too perfect.  The answer is YES!  Our perfect God planned our time together two weeks ago in advance and carried it to completion!  IT WAS HIS WORK, HIS TIMING AND HIS REMINDER THAT WITHOUT CHRIST WE ARE POWERLESS!

We had many visitors attend our “power-shortage-Sunday” from all over our region.  Whatever else was said and done, I pray all of us heard God’s message loud and clear!

“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the POWER that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen (Ephesians 3:20-21).

God is good.  Mr. Steve
