Worship Coordination

Supporting Scripture:

"God is spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth. John 4:24"

Purpose:

 This ministry exists to oversee our combined assemblies and to lead our church in meaningful and uplifting worship experiences. Powerful worship experiences cannot be dictated or orchestrated, because they only come from within the heart. However, we hope to assist the worshiper by providing appropriate songs, prayers, and Communion meditation under the leadership of men who have prepared themselves for their important roles.

  This deacon works closely with our ministers and with the Audio/Visual team.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate our worship assemblies on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.
  • Compile, post, and distribute a monthly assignment schedule that lists the specific men involved in the Sunday morning and Wednesday evening activities.
  • Call or send reminders to the song leaders and men presiding at Lords' Table each week.
  • Before each service, check to be sure that all responsibilities are filled.
  • Approach new members and ask if they would like to participate in leading in worship.
• Take attendance.
  • Arrange for someone to take attendance during classes and worship.
  • Post the attendance on the board in the back of the auditorium.
  • Record the count in the church office.
• Oversee Communion preparation.
  • Take weekly inventory of supplies and purchase items as needed.
  • Prepare the communion trays and carry them to the Communion Table
  • Clean up the trays in the kitchen.
• Work with the elders and preachers to host guest speakers.

Note:

Our corporate worship is an important time for us as a church to give God praise and to reflect on our relationship with Him and each other. It's a time of encouragement and healing. Also, it is often a visitor's introduction to us as a church.

  My main goal is that the worship ministry will run smoothly, so that it appears to run itself. By that I mean that we strive to have everyone in the right place at the right time!

  I hope to have a Worship Committee organized soon. My goal is to involve more people in planning special worship times and to train volunteers in the technical aspects of our services.
