Supporting Scripture:

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17"

Purpose:

This ministry exists to lovingly lead our teenagers as they make decisions concerning their relationship with God, their eternal destiny, and their relationships with each other. This ministry plans two Sunday morning classes and one Wednesday evening Bible classes for our young people, grades 7-12. Through these classes, we hope to accomplish the goals of creating and equipping teen saints. Tim Davis and the elders coordinate this area of responsibility.

Responsibilities:

• Recruit knowledgeable and sound Bible Class teachers who care about teens and who relate well to them. Although most adults will graciously endure an unskilled teacher, ineffective teachers can be the death of a teen class—and the loss of a teen.
• Plan a Bible-based, relevant curriculum.
  • Create a curriculum that teaches the Bible in its entirety on an age-appropriate level.
  • Create a curriculum that applies Scripture to the real-life dilemmas of teenagers.
  • Accumulate a relevant video library.
• Foster the spiritual development of our teenage members and their friends.

Note:

One of the main goals of our teen education is to make the Bible real and applicable in our teens' lives. We want our youth to know that what happened in the Bible was real and that we can still apply it in our lives today. The other goal that we have is to help our teens develop their own faith through our education and devotionals. Our prayer is that our teens will continue to walk in the light and become leaders in the church.
