Supporting Scripture:

"But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD. "

Purpose:

This ministry exists to provide a comfortable place for our church family to worship, participate in Bible classes, fellowship with each other, and welcome visitors. This deacon serves to oversee, secure, maintain and upgrade the church building and the Wisteria House and to insure that these two buildings will always be functional and available for our use.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for up-keep and for maintenance of the church building and other church-
  owned property.
• Oversee weekly custodial service.
• Plan for physical facilities, needs and best use of properties.
• Maintenance and usage of building supplies and contents, other than as provided for in
  other areas.
• Arrange and promote for church “work days” on building.
• Keep all light bulbs changed and burning bright. “Let your light so shine….”

It is important for this church to have a clean, safe, well-maintained place to worship God and meet together as a body. We want our visitors receive a good first impression of our church. We want our building to be inviting for newcomers and visitors, so they will remain long enough for them to discover what a loving church we are here at Pitman. I am blessed to worship at Pitman with JoAnn and my two children. Pitman is a loving and Christ-centered congregation, and we have been blessed in many ways by the Christians here.
